Exciting news just in! We will be teaming up with Alzheimer’s Research UK from Monday 27th March for the second year in a row. That’s right – it’s time to raise as much money as possible for this incredible charity…
Currently, there are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, which is about the population of Leeds. And did you know that dementia already costs the UK economy £26bn per year – more than cancer and heart disease combined, and 2 out of 3 three people in care homes have dementia. Plus, the number of people with dementia is expected to rise to 1 million by 2025 and this could result in a care crisis.
‘Dementia is the biggest killer of women in the UK and it’s a diagnosis that turns lives upside-down, but research can change this,’ says Jade Rolph, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Alzheimer’s Research UK. ‘We’re really excited to be working with The Perfume Shop to power vital research and we couldn’t be more grateful to all their staff for their support. As the UK’s leading dementia research charity, we rely on donations to be able to fund our work, so this backing will make a huge difference in the fight against this devastating condition.’
So, the only way to avoid this is to invest in research…now. Dementia research is hugely underfunded compared to other major diseases.
This is where you can become a hero! We have lots of activity planned at The Perfume Shop and are going bigger than ever (since The Perfume Shop and Alzheimer’s Research UK are both celebrating 25th birthdays this year).
To kick things off, when you come into store or shop online from Monday 27th March, you can give a 25p donation, which will go straight to Alzheimer’s Research.
