How to keep your perfumes fresh in the fridge

By Lauren Carbran

If you thought your fridge was just for food, think again. Yes, guys, you can use your fridge to help keep your perfumes fresh for summer. And we’re all for it. So move your groceries to the side and make some room. Here are four top tips from Granit Zeneli, Marketing Executive from #TEAMTPS…

1Tip 1: Choose a perfume with fresh notes

Chilling a perfume that has refreshing, icy notes will give it maximum impact. We’re obsessed with lemon, grapefruit, marine accord and blackcurrant sorbet notes. ‘Try Prada Luna Rossa for him, which oozes bitter orange and spearmint,’ says Granit. Boom! Can you get any fresher than that? ‘Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for her will keep you smelling light and fresh all day, thanks to the notes of lemon and white rose.’

Tip 2: Keep perfume away from any strong-smelling foods

No one wants to spray a perfume and smell hints of pickled cucumbers! ‘Make sure you don’t put your perfume near any strong-smelling foods in the fridge,’ says Granit. ‘In fact, don’t let perfume touch anything in the fridge, and keep it isolated.’

Tip 3: Cool your perfume for just 20 minutes before spritzing

‘Spraying a nice aquatic fragrance that has been chilled in the fridge for 20 minutes can make you feel refreshingly cool,’ says Granit. ‘It’s the perfect thing to do on a hot summer’s day.’ So ditch the water mists – this is all you’ll need to cool down when the sun appears (if it ever does!).

Tip 4: Store your perfumes in a cool place after spritzing

Once you’ve sprayed your uber-fresh perfume, keep it cool. ‘Perfume should never be in direct contact with sunlight,’ says Granit. ‘So after the fridge, keep it in a dark cupboard and avoid sudden temperature changes. And when you next feel like a burst of icy perfume, head for the fridge again!’
